Sa-Rang Community Church

The Sarang Community Church English Ministry was first established in early 2001 by Reverend Young Moon and a committee of deacons and elders at a time when the Korean-American church was confronted with a new obstacle and challenge. The younger generation of Korean-Americans were rising from the depths of Sunday Bible Study and in search of a ministry and place of worship they could call their own. Up to this point, the Korean Ministry of so many churches in California was flourishing and experiencing revivals. However, with contrasting cultural values and a language barrier, English-speaking students were leaving church with nothing to anchor their faith and interest. In the year 2000, our single college ministry was losing far too many students because of the ministrys inability to facilitate the growth of Korean and English language needs. As a result, the college ministry of Sarang Community Church became two, kCollege (Korean College) & eCollege (English College). This was the launch and indication of our future EM. Following soon after, the church became very aware for the growing need for an English based ministry and worship; every education department starting from Jr. High initiated the Korean and English division of their ministries. At the same time, Sarang Community English Ministry was born and continues to grow today past its 6th year of ministry. Today, Sarang Community Church is flourishing and experiencing revival because of the common foundation that both the Korean Ministry and the English Ministry reside on, and that is worshipping and loving God.
