On November 9, 2020, the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement was established from the merged responsibilities of the former Central Services and SaskBuilds. The Honourable Jim Reiter was named the minister to oversee a new approach to the management of all infrastructure projects and assets, standardized government procurement and IT infrastructure. Priority Saskatchewan was created in 2014 to ensure that public procurement in Saskatchewan is open, transparent, based on international best practices and treats Saskatchewan businesses fairly. Find out more about what SaskBuilds is doing to improve procurement for Saskatchewan businesses here . SaskBuilds has overseen the planning, procurement and delivery of four public-private partnership (P3) projects worth more than $3 billion that are providing critical infrastructure for the province while achieving more than $500 million in savings for taxpayers. These projects are also supporting more than 12,000 construction jobs and involve hundreds of Saskatchewan-based suppliers and sub-contractors.
