In 2011 Stop Abuse, Victim Empowerment (SAVE) was formed. Its founders included Jeffrey Adams, Donna Adams, Christi Adams, and Ashley Adams. Through the Adams' personal experience with domestic violence, the organization grew out of a desire to protect women and their children from the effects of domestic abuse. After years of physical and mental abuse, Christi Adams and her children were able to escape an abusive relationship, but it was not until her escape that she realized the true uphill battle it takes to break the chain of abuse. Living in Fairfax County, one of the most affluent counties in the country, posed a difficult and almost impossible feat to overcome on her own. With the help of her family, Jeannie Kuley (Fairfax County Victim Advocate), and her faith in God she was able to put together a successful combination to overcome these obstacles and create a new life for her and her children. SAVE aims to provide a sustained effort in preventing domestic violence and to build a momentum for social change. We provide a collaborative structure and focus which is needed to transform individual intentions into collective action that can change a culture.
