THE Scarlets have announced Link Telecom Group, one of the UK’s largest and longest established providers of telecommunications solutions, as its third major stand sponsor at Parc y Scarlets. Link Telecom Group will sponsor the new stadium’s all-seat East Sand in a five-year deal. This enhances the company’s links with the Scarlets; Link Telecom has been the Region’s community sponsor for the past year, helping to deliver rugby skills development and healthy living initiatives with school children across the area. The success of Link Telecom’s partnership with the Scarlets has now led to an increased level of support. Link Telecom will extend its community partnership by a further year as well as the new sponsorship of the East Stand, significantly enhancing its investment in the club and in its business across South and West Wales. Established in 1987, the national telecommunications provider has over 20 years experience in providing a wide range of mobile, data and voice solutions for more than 150,000 customers across the UK. It operates from offices in Keighley (West Yorks), Halifax, Bradford, Leeds and Camberley in Surrey. It is one of the largest providers in its sector, with an annual turnover of over £15m. Scarlets managing director Gareth Davies said: “The Scarlets have had a very successful relationship with Link Telecom to date. We're proud to have them as our vitally important community partner and now as stand sponsor in Parc y Scarlets. Link Telecom is a modern and forward thinking company keen to further its business in our part of the world." Link Telecom commercial director Matthew Wright said: “Wales is an important growth area for us and having had a successful partnership supporting the Scarlets community programme, this was a natural next step for us. We have a large nationwide presence but we also firmly believe in supporting excellence in the regions and the Scarlets are truly flying the flag for Welsh sport. “To further enhance our close working relationship with the Scarlets, Link Telecom is pleased to announce the creation of a Link Telecom business centre at Parc y Scarlets which will be run by Kate Lewis who lives in Llanelli.â€ Kate can be emailed at [email protected]. The first rugby game at Parc y Scarlets stadium will be on November 15 when Principality Premiership sides Llanelli and Cardiff meet. The Scarlets’ first game there will be against Munster in the Magners League on November 28, followed by the first Heineken Cup game against Ulster on December 12. A showcase opening ceremony takes place on Saturday 31 January. The event will see the hosts play world-famous touring club the Barbarians who plan to bring a star-studded line-up. The opening event will include a line-up of top entertainment for what is expected to be a capacity crowd.
