Beaverly Elementary School was built in 1966. t that time there were only 100 students, 5 staff members and 5 classrooms.Today we are in a wheel chair accessible facility with 10 classrooms, one portable, a learning assistance resource room, a full sized gymnasium, a fully stocked library, and a computer lab. he school yard contains soccer fields, a baseball diamond, a basketball court and a number of minor games on the tarmac. e have a number of playground structures located across the school grounds and our hard working PAC is raising funds for more. e are surrounded by a green belt that is home to moose, deer, bear, fox and rabbits. lmost all of our 221 students are bus students. e have 10 divisions going from Kindergarten to Grade 7.Many of the classes are split grade which allows us to accommodate a wide range of learning needs. ur Kindergarten students attend full days. e have 23 full and part time staff members that interact with our students on a daily basis. ur parents are very active partners in the educational and recreational programs offered at Beaverly. he Beaverly West Leisure Society sponsors user groups such as Ladies Keep Fit, kids floor hockey, kids soccer, gymnastics classes, baseball, T-ball, a play school, and after school care. he Beaverly Community Association provides funding support for our yearly swim program and help with the purchase of playground equipment. he very strong Beaverly School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a strong advocate for our students and community. hey participate in many school wide activities and sponsor family events such as family dances and movie nights. e truly are a community based school that thrives on its rural - suburban location and way of living.4H is a vital part of our students lives as are feeding horses, shearing sheep, raising rabbits and pigs and the many chores associated with country living.
