Here at the Sunnyvale School District, we believe that every child is capable of learning and that it is our responsibility to ensure that all children achieve academic success. Thus, we operate according to a strategic plan that focuses first and foremost on student learning. We also adhere to strong financial planning and management practices to ensure that, regardless of fluctuating economic circumstances, each school in the district is equipped with all it needs to prepare every student with the tools, skills, and knowledge required for future success. The time-tested and research-supported Seven Correlates of Effective Schools shape our instructional environment and practices, and each year we work with the Board of Education to develop time-bound Leadership Goals designed to help us deepen our effectiveness in every area of our operations. We also partner closely with our community, including nonprofit organizations, universities, and businesses, to leverage resources and enrich students learning opportunities. Our neighbors are highly supportive, approving bond measures to support school improvements, volunteering in the classroom, partnering with us for service delivery, and awarding grant money to help us in our work. This collaborative commitment to our students has been a strong contributor to our success here in the Sunnyvale School District.
