San Francisco Classical Voice
About San Francisco Classical Voice (www.sfcv.org) San Francisco Classical Voice (SFCV) is the Bay Area's leading source for classical music news, criticism, information, resources, and other forms of audience engagement. Its award-winning website includes a special section devoted to kids and families, as well as news, a searchable events calendar, editorial commentary, artist spotlights, concert reviews, and online listening opportunities. It seeks to increase the involvement of existing and new audiences by providing fresh insights and unique access to the world of classical music. Founded in 1998 by Robert Commanday, critic of the San Francisco Chronicle for 38 years, SFCV was the first online publication of news and reviews in the country. In 2009, with its expanded offering - augmenting top-quality journalism with an array of information services - SFCV won a national award as one of the three top arts-journalism websites in the country from the USC/Annenberg School of Journalism and the NEA Arts Journalism Institute.
