Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation is designed by Le Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design Inc., who earlier renovated the famous Old Course of Siam country Club Pattaya, the hosted the Honda LPGA Thailand. Championship quality and standard are also placed on the design of the Plantation, proven during the Honda LPGA Thailand 2009. Natural rolling hills and breath taken views of Pattaya Ocean set the Plantation apart from any courses in Thailand. The continuous breezes of wind from the ocean keep the course challenging and enjoyable even on the hottest day. With the investment of another 18 million US dollars, the new 27-hole golf course is ready for a "Trial Opening" with the name Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation. The golf courses are designed by a well know Arizona based, Schmidt & Curley Design Inc. The "PLANTATION" name was given in the honor of the historic Sugar Cane, Tapioca, and Pineapple plantations, and each 9-hole is named accordingly. It didn't take long for this layout, about four kilometers from the Old Course, to attract a major event. Exactly one year after opening in 2008, it served as site of the Honda LPGA Thailand, won by world No.1 Lorena Ochoa. Upkeep the golf course after the well design and built is the most important thing to fulfill the original desire of having 2 international championship golf courses. Choosing the right strand of grass is the beginning "Novotek" ultradwarf Bermuda grass is chosen for the greens. The rest of the grass areas are grassed with the salt and bracket watertolerant "Seashore Paspalum", a revolutionary strand typically used in tropical and subtropical climates in coastal areas. Groundcovers such as Red Fountain grass, Love grass and Yellow Peanut grass are widely planted and blended into native grasses and trees of natural surrounding, help making the landscape impeccable beauty.
