Skytours

The Agency is one of the oldest established travel companies in California. The history of our company started in 1977, when Laker Airways, a British based airline, started service from London to New York. They called their airplanes 'Skytrains'. Due to traffic restrictions, Laker initially received approval to fly only to New York. Therefore, they began a charter program. One of the top destinations from London became San Francisco. The charter operation was called 'Skytours'. In 1981, Laker Airways folded and 'Skytours' became one of the largest seller of discounted airline tickets in California. After 19 years of operating from downtown San Francisco, the office moved to San Rafael. Redwood Travel established in 1941, one of the best known and well-respected agencies in the area was acquired and became part of the Skytours group in 1999. In 2000, Elly Stahl travel services of Corte Madera, CA was also acquired by the group. Our philosophy is to provide the services and products you want at the best possible price.
