So-net Entertainment Corporation is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the provision of various Internet services. The Company has three business segments. The Connection segment provides Internet connection services for customers with computers via optic fibers, telephone lines and wireless connections, among others. The connection methods include fiber to the home (FTTH), asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL), dial-up and mobile. The Portal segment sells contents and products online via its portal site called So-net. The contents and products include news, town information, television programs, lifestyle-related information, movie information, Korean dramas, fortune telling, horse racing information and gravure idols, among others. The Others segment is involved in the planning and operation of businesses using the technologies of PlaceEngine and MotionPortrait. On September 1, 2008, the Company acquired a Tokyo-based company.
