Social Movement Technologies

Social Movement Technologies' mission is to improve living and working conditions for the majority of people, especially the poor, underprivileged, and workers, by strengthening communities; defending human, civil, and labor rights; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; and protecting the natural environment. We do this by helping other small and medium-sized social change groups with similar aims to become more effective by using the latest social and mobile technologies. SMT is a non-profit. What does this mean? SMT is a non-profit organization (application pending). We were established as a movement group, driven 100% to meet movement needs. Our financial documents are public information filed with the IRS. Currently our fiscal sponsor for IRS tax purposes is the New Organizing Institute. As SMT develops, our aim is for it to be guided by, and be accountable to, the broader social change community it serves. Our goal is to be effective at the lowest possible cost in order to be accessible and useful to all organizing groups. We want to connect.
