Our two accommodations open all year round are Gallery Guesthouse and Akranes HI Hostel. Both are in the center town of Akranes within walking distance from restaurants, cafés, movie theater and more. The third, Akranes Guesthouse, is open in the summer season, also centrally located. In Borgarnes we have a newly renovated ECO certificated Hostel, open all year around. Suitable for solo travelers as well as large groups. Borgarnes HI Hostel is a good place to accommodate school groups while travelling in Iceland. Located only 60 minutes from Reykjavík and a good place to base for your self-drive trips around Iceland.
