Steel Services was awarded the Steel Award in 2011 for the world's tallest steel headgear at Gold Fields South Deep Twinshaft Vent Shaft in the category of Mining and Industrial. The structure stands 87m tall and has a mass of approximately 2000 tonnes. This structure is expected to extend the life of the mine by up to 60 years.
