STEM Wizard is an award-winning web-based science fair management system created by GlowTouch Technologies. We are a technology services firm based in Louisville, KY. Philanthropy, social responsibility, and community outreach are integral to GlowTouch's philosophy, so our story began with an aspiration to solve a problem with science fairs. Vidya Ravichandran, President of GlowTouch, is a strong advocate of rigorous education and is committed to boosting the quality of STEM education as a parent and community leader. In 2012, she volunteered as a judge for her daughter's science fair and began to notice that overseeing a science fair was a long and laborious process. Vidya recognized a great need for a more organized and documented process and offered GlowTouch's resources to develop an online science fair management tool that would relieve the administrative and organizational burdens of managing a science fair. Our team took on the challenge of creating the application and began to meet with individuals that represented each role within the science fair community. The team consulted with science teachers, fair administrators and volunteers, judges with years of experience, and attended science education conferences on a regular basis. Within a year, our team of science fair management experts was able to work with our the first school. Together, we were able to incorporate an early version of STEM Wizard and the administrative time was cut by 75%. Positive reviews of the STEM Wizard's science fair software started to spread throughout schools and regional fairs, and people began seeking out more information. It quickly became clear that this tool would become vital for anyone managing a science fair. Today, STEM Wizard has expanded its platform to serve everyone involved in statewide, regional, and school-level fairs.
