St. Luke's United Methodist Church

St. Luke's is committed to Sharing Christ, Growing in Faith and Serving the Community. Our history of support for the community goes back many years to our involvement in starting ministries to address education, hunger, poverty and more. Each year, the church collects a special Easter Offering which enables support for more than 50 different ministries; organizations that bless the lives of others beyond the walls of our church and seek to make a difference in the world. This year, we will be sharing about a few of these ministries during worship each week throughout Lent and leading to Easter. We are excited about the ways these ministries have personally impacted members of our congregation and community. You will be blessed as you hear the stories of hope, transformation and new opportunities. The ministries we will highlight include: City Rescue Mission and Skyline Urban Ministries - we seek to support the organizations that address homelessness and poverty right here in Oklahoma City. Honduras Project - our recent mission trip included 21 adults working with children in an orphanage. We want to support this effort to reach out and bless children in impoverished nations. Neighborhood Services Organization - this United Methodist mission here in OKC is working with the poor to provide housing, dental services, programs for the elderly and more. Faith Partners and Pine Ridge - our newly formed Addiction Ministry will be working with people here in Oklahoma City, with our churches in Russia and with Native Americans who experience high rates of fetal alcohol syndrome on reservations in places like North Dakota. All of these groups are involved in meeting the physical needs of the less fortunate in our community and around the world. Their mission is accomplished through food programs, work with the less fortunate, preventative social work and addiction recovery. The goal of each group directly relates to the goal of St. Luke's to "bring hope to the world." Your gift to the Easter Offering will allow us to continue our long tradition of Serving the Community.
