Summa Financial Technology was founded in 2017 by senior executives from Advent Software. Our mission is to deliver transformational technology for the modern investment management firm. The name Summa originates from the book Summa de arithmetica, geometria, proportioni et proportionalita written by Luca Pacioli in 1494 which was the first published description of double entry accounting. Many of the subsequent developments and standardization of professional accounting methods originated from this work. Considered by many as the father of accounting, Pacioli is also credited with the axiom a person should not go to sleep at night until the debits equal the credits.
