Sun Source was founded by John Marcocchio. John graduated from the first Mechanical Engineering course in Canada specializing in the use and development of Renewable Energy, wind, solar and bio-gas in the early 1980's. John subsequently completed a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies and a PMI certified Project Management Professional program. John worked in the Solar industry in Canada throughout the eighties and ventured as far as Africa undertaking renewable energy projects. In the mid-1980s he worked on several projects in Jamaica and moved to the island in 1990. e has since focused on executing large development and built environment projects throughout the Caribbean region including the islands of: The Bahamas Turks and Caicos St. Lucia Dominica Antigua Tobago In Jamaica John has conducted a series of wind energy audits for bauxite companies, has been senior Project Manager on projects that include Sandals hotels, and played a lead role the development of Chris Blackwell's Island Village complex in Ocho Rios (and Sun Source has recently completed a solar powered water pumping system installation that supplies water to a cattle farm owned by Mr. Blackwell in Trelawny). John established Sun Source to help clients throughout the Caribbean utilize renewable energy technologies to cost-effectively harness the region's abundant sunshine and optimal wind regimes.
