Target English International

Target English International operates summer schools in many key locations across the UK. Our schools are based on the campuses of prestigious universities or Further Education colleges, all with generous recreational facilities on-site and exciting excursion locations within reach. We specialise in English language courses for students aged 11-18 and concentrate on a balanced mix between learning in the classroom and learning during activities and on excursions. We are dedicated to giving students a memorable, enjoyable and, above all, safe experience whenever they stay at one of our centres. Our staff are without doubt our most valuable asset and our students frequently say the staff are one of the best things about their study holiday. We welcome new applicants but also value our returning staff, and to both we offer an attractive package that includes: Competitive salary Full-board accommodation if required (in high quality single rooms, most of which are en-suite) Holiday pay Full induction on-site (managers and activity leaders are requested to attend our specialist Induction Weekends, held on our flagship centre campus at the University of Hull) £10 a week returner's increment (up to a maximum of 3 years) Contracts are usually 2 or 4 weeks in length dependent on location, and start dates can be at any point from mid-June to the end of August. Extensions are possible dependent on student numbers, staff availability and manager recommendations. How do we recruit? All prospective staff must complete our Target English International staff application form and send to Louise Brown, Recruitment Manager, at [email protected] or by post to Recruitment, Target English International, Norwich House, Savile Street, Hull, HU1 3ES. In line with safer recruitment for roles involving responsibility for, or substantial access to, under 18s, all gaps in employment history must be explained, references will be followed up and all staff will undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or overseas equivalent). All staff complete an online safeguarding course. We will then invite successful applicants to an interview, face-to-face, via Skype or over the telephone. Applicants are recommended to read the job description for the role they are applying for in order to best prepare for the interview. Candidates successful at interview are then offered a position in one of our centres, subject to receipt of two satisfactory references, relevant safeguarding checks, proof of identity and proof of qualifications (for academic staff). All enquiries regarding recruitment are to be addressed to Lucy Donnelly, Recruitment Support [email protected] or 01482 215 014.
