Telford Fire

Today, over 100 years later, the volunteer members of the Telford Fire Company proudly serve over 10,000 residents located in both Montgomery and Buckscounties with a coverage area of over 5 square miles that includes Telford Borough as well as portions of Franconia , West Rockhill ,and Hilltown townships. The company's original station was located on Penn Ave. which today is the town's borough hall. Around 1952 the company moved to Fourth & West Broad Streets where a new station was built consisting of four truck bays and some storage area. This station remained operational until about 1977 when the company, assisted by Roger M. Koffel, Inc., took on the project of expanding and remodeling the station. Currently the station, which is about 6000 square feet, consists of 7 apparatus bays, a meeting room for company business, a club room, a radio room, and a chief's office. In 1996 a 20 hp Eagle Baron II air compressor and SCBA bottle fill station was added to the fire station. This unit supports Special Service 75 by allowing us to refill the unit's air cascade system quickly in house, as well as allowing us to support our neighboring companies by filling their SCBA bottles in a non emergency situation in station.
