Temecula

Temecula is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California. The city is a prominent tourist destination, with the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, the Temecula Valley Polo Club, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, the Temecula Valley International Film Festival, championship golf courses, and resort accommodations attracting a significant amount of tourists which appreciably contributes to the city's economic profile. In addition to the tourism sector, the educational, healthcare, leisure, professional, finance, and retail sectors all contribute to the city's economy as well. The City of Temecula is a dynamic community comprised of approximately 108,920 citizens. The hillsides of Temecula were the home of the Temecula Indians, the first residents of the area. Ancestors of the Temecula Indians were in this area as early as 900 A.D. The native people from here to the coast who shared the same language and culture became commonly known as the Luiseos, because many of their villages were once under the influence of Mission San Luis Rey.
