Tenerife

The "Cabildo Insular de Tenerife", founded in 1913, is Tenerife's governing council, responsible for all aspects of local government on the island. In 2010 the council started the deployment of the Alix project which consisted of three different projects: an international submarine cable which provides international connectivity with Europe and Africa (Canalink project), a high availability datacenter and international submarine cable landing station (D-Alix project) and a dark fiber ring around the island connecting whole island with D-Alix (AITT and it3 projects).
