TerraMai's project list includes Google, Stanford University, Ritz-Carlton, REI, Starbucks, IBM,Nike, U.C. Berkeley, Patagonia, Four Seasons - just to name a few. To see examples of our work, please visit the Projects section of our Website. Our 25-plus years of experience, expertise and custom capabilities enable us to serve as a resource for leading architecture and design firms, such as Gensler, Callison, HOK, Perkins+Will and others. We also work directly with manufacturers, builders and homeowners. TerraMai searches out the most beautiful, interesting and high-performing reclaimed woods from a variety of sources throughout the U.S. and abroad, including Asia, Africa and South America. TerraMai's international sourcing network is unmatched in the reclaimed wood industry. Reclaimed wood offers a number of advantages over new wood, including beauty, story, and sustainability. TerraMai's unique range of reclaimed wood products span the spectrum from clean and consistent to character-rich and eclectic. Whatever the design vision, TerraMai can collaborate with designers and all members of a project team to make that vision a reality with products that will perform in the field. All of TerraMai's wood products are reclaimed from various sources. This includes: Post-Consumer Reclaimed - wood reclaimed primarily from old structures such as old buildings, bridges, tanks other sources. Post-Industrial Reclaimed- wood reclaimed from the waste produced by wood processing and manufacturing, such as small or thin scrap material from furniture manufacturing. Underwater Reclaimed - wood harvested from underwater forests flooded decades ago to create reservoirs for water storage and power generation. Orchard Salvage - wood from trees that were cut down because they had stopped producing fruit, nuts, latex or other commodities. All of TerraMai's post-consumer reclaimed products are FSC certified (SCS-COC-001014). Many of TerraMai's products contribute toward various LEED credits. Whenever possible, the woods we reclaim are remilled as close to the source as possible, both domestically and overseas. This enables TerraMai to reduce shipping and supply LEED-eligible regional wood products to all parts of the U.S. This practice also allows TerraMai to take advantage of local and regional knowledge and expertise and to support local communities both in the U.S. and overseas. The overseas transport of wood products by container ship is many hundreds of times more energy-efficient than the transportation of material overland by truck. TerraMai only works with overseas operations that meet our high standards for workplace conditions and technical excellence. TerraMai personally inspects all overseas facilities we work with to ensure quality and workplace standards.
