Altria is the newest member of the Information Technology arm of the VS Group. Our proud corporate heritage dates back to 1972 where we started as an engineering company focusing on providing laboratory equipment to the Sri Lankan market. Since then, we've successfully diversified into Hydro Power Generation, Turbine Manufacturing and Information Technology. We are a major player in the hydro power industry in the East African region since 2002. We also hold the unique distinction of being the only designated company that does clinical trials in Sri Lanka. Setting up of VS Information Systems (Pvt) Ltd in 2009 with a focus on Systems Integration was a significant milestone for the VS Group. Today the company has evolved to be one of the lead players in the industry with over 250 staff members and preferred partnerships with principles such as HP, IBM, CITRIX, Oracle, Hitachi, Cisco, Polaris, VMware and Panduit delivering some of the largest ICT projects in the private and government sector in Sri Lanka, Maldives and Philippines. With the success of VSIS, the group made further inroads in to the sector in 2011 with the acquisition of a local arm of a bespoke software development operation focusing on the Japanese market, Inova IT. Armed with a team of competent and highly qualified group of local graduates, the Company has provided a wide spectrum of solutions to some of the global giants including NTT, Data, Natwest, IBM and salesforce.com and are now focusing on developing bespoke software for the local market. Having made significant strides in the local IT market we clearly saw an opportunity to further cater to the enterprise IT customer in the growing area of Data Analytics and ERP implementation and support.
