Denver7 Read to Lead is joining Food Bank of the Rockies this summer, distributing free children's books at Mobile Pantry sites. Denver7 believes that literacy is crucial to success in school and in life. Studies show that children who grow up with books in the home enjoy a substantial advantage over children who do not, and more than 60 percent of low-income families have no children's books in their home. By distributing free books this summer, Denver7 hopes to help kids learn to read and read more often.
