The Fruit People

The Fruit People is a family business, founded in 2013 by brothers Barry and Brian Dennis. Our story starts when Barry was travelling in Australia, in his early 20s. During his trip, he worked for a company that supplied households with farm-fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables and milk. He noticed that this type of delivery service, while common in many countries, was almost totally unknown in Ireland. Brian was also working abroad at this point, but once both brothers were back home, they launched themselves into the fruit delivery business. As the concept of office fruit boxes was so new, it came down to knocking on doors and demonstrating the benefits of such a service. It was a leap of faith for Barry and Brian, but the appetite was there, and customers were quick to embrace the concept. The Fruit People's reputation grew, and soon we were expanding! We initially worked from a building on the family property, but soon outgrew this and moved to a 3,500 m2 unit, where we currently operate from. We will be moving to a new 8,500 m2 unit in 2018. Both Barry and Brian are passionate about health and fitness, and the whole team shares this ethos. The Fruit People is a socially engaged business, and we care about the role we play in the promotion of workplace nutrition.
