T&FG - Timex Garments
In the initial years, Fergasam produced men's shirts that were limited in sales to the local market. But with sheer effort and determination, the company was able to send its first export order of shirts to Sweden in 1972. Encouraged and emboldened by this success there has been no turning back for the group which now has major buyers across all important markets in the West. In 1982, Fergasam successfully acquired Timex Garments. With this acquisition the group was renamed as Timex & Fergasam Group (T & FG) which focused on developing new export markets and product ranges. In time, marketing offices were set up in New York and in the United Kingdom while fabric and accessory sourcing offices were set up in Hong Kong and China. The group's primary markets, at present, are the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. The major share of manufacturing capacity is now concentrated on high end ladies dresses and intimate apparel. The company's brand portfolio is constantly increasing and includes Victoria's Secret, Marks & Spencer, Wallis, Maggy London, PVH, Red Cats and Jessica Howard among many others. The group currently operates nineteen factories out of which seventeen produce ladies high end fashion garments while the other two manufacture lingerie. The group also has a factory in Bangladesh and plans are under way to expand further in Sri Lanka and overseas. The group has over 10,000 employees at present across all its production units.
