Trinity is the only independent school in Montgomery that offers a full-time Dance Program. Trinity has more Jimmy Hitchcock Award recipients than any other independent school in Montgomery. Our most recent recipient is 2012 graduate, Sarah Kathryn Portis. Trinity School offers 11 Advance Placement (AP) courses and 14 honor courses. A Trinity 7th grader won the 2012 Montgomery County Spelling Bee. Jacqueline Morris, Trinity Senior, is a National Merit Commended Student. Fourteen Trinity students earned AP Scholar Awards from the College Board's Advanced Placement Program® in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams for 2012. Trinity offers on-site lessons in piano, cello, violin, dance and taekwondo. Trinity has won the last 3 out of 4 Environbowl State Championships. Trinity has won 21 AHSAA state championships, most recently the 2012 3A State Baseball Championship. Trinity's Youth Judicial Team was chosen to represent the state of Alabama at the 2012 National Mock Trial Competition held last April in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 5th grade students write, produce and broadcast the "Morning Message" (announcements) using Pages, iMovie and iTunes U. Trinity is located on one campus, allowing older students unlimited opportunities to serve as mentors to the young students on a daily basis. For instance "Kingdom Keepers" is a new program at Trinity where each 5th grade student mentors a kindergartner. The 5th graders are assigned a kindergartner and they meet several times a month for activities in the library as well as communicate weekly by mail. Between 2011-2012, 67 students scored between a 25-36 on the ACT. 22 Trinity students placed in the top 25 in the state on the National French Exam. A 2011-2012 Trinity 5th grader earned a perfect score on the most difficult WordMasters Challenge. Trinity's Lower School science lab, in conjunction with Sage Dining, has provided a vegetable garden in lower school. The harvested vegetables and herbs are used in the school's daily lunch. There are Smartboards in every K4-12 classroom. Trinity's 2011-12 Junior and Senior classes served over 1,100 hours of community service with local organizations like Common Ground, Habitat for Humanity, and The Salvation Army. A Trinity 2012 graduate won the Bryant-Jordan Scholar-Athlete Award for 3A Region 2. In the Fall of 2012, the Trinity "Wildcat Pride" Marching Band participated in several state competitions, receiving a total of 20 Superior Ratings, 8 Best in Class Awards, and 1 Overall Most Entertaining Band Award-the highest award given out. Trinity Tribune Newspaper won first place in the American Scholastic Press Association's Contest. Over 98% of Trinity's faculty and staff have contributed to the Trinity Annual Fund. A Trinity student has been elected as the Youth Governor in the State of Alabama Youth Legislature for the past 2 years. Over 98% of Trinity's parents are members of the PTO, supplying hundreds of volunteer hours, and assisting classroom needs for the school year. 100% of Trinity graduates are accepted to post-secondary institutions, with many attending some of the finest colleges in the nation. The Class of 2012 was accepted to numerous colleges including: Anderson University, Boston College, Clemson, Elon, Furman, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Millsaps, Oklahoma, Rhodes, Samford, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Wheaton, Wofford, Auburn University and the University of Alabama. A Trinity 5th grader won the 2012 "Right Stuff Award" at Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Over 50 of Trinity's 7th graders were selected to participate in the Duke TIP Talent Search Program. Over 84% of students in grades 7-12 compete in at least one sport at Trinity. The Trinity "Wildcat Pride" Marching Band has their own app for iPhones and Android devices, which provides directions to all varsity football games, recordings of band cheers/songs, and the band's twitter feed.
