Union Mortgage Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union First Market Bank which is a member of Union First Market Bankshares Corporation. With the merger with First Market Bank in early 2010, Union First Market Bank is the largest community bank by asset size in the state of Virginia. Union Mortgage Group offers Conventional, FHA and VA loan programs and participates in the CDA and VHDA bond programs and has been an approved lender for over ten years with both programs. UMG offers first time homebuyer assistance through Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and the Federal homebuyer tax credit programs. UMG was approved by USDA in 2008 to originate Guaranteed Rural Housing loans.
