AixMarseille Universite

The Aix-Marseille University (AMU) is a public institution for science, culture and education. It was founded in 2012 through the merger of three former universities. With almost 80 000 students, 10 000 of whom are foreign, 18 educational institutions and 120 research institutions distributed across the d'Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and other cities in the region of Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, the Aix-Marseille University is one of the most important French universities. Although rooted in its homeland, it spans into the European network (through the civis network), and has partners all over the world. Archaeology is part of one of five groups of scientific disciplines that make up the scientific and educational activities.
