Upworthy
Upworthy is a website for viral content where the awesome, meaningful, and visual intersect. Every day, Upworthy curators search the Internet for the best online content that's highly shareable and clickable and actually important. The aim is to help bring attention and focus to stuff that really matters in a viral format that can reach millions. The company was founded by Eli Pariser, of MoveOn, and Peter Koechley, the former managing editor of The Onion, and is backed by Chris Hughes of Facebook. The staff includes veterans from The Chicago Tribune, YouTube, The Electronic Frontier Foundation, The Huffington Post, The Sunlight Foundation, and The New York Times.
