The Urban Electric

The Urban Electric Co. is committed to supporting local, non-profit organizations that provide a basic need in our community. With this mission in mind, the company and its employees provide time and monetary support to several local groups. As part of our benefits package, full-time employees are provided paid time off to lend a hand at these organizations, which include: Lowcountry Food Bank - this organization focuses entirely on adult and childhood hunger issues in our surrounding area. The Food Bank's work includes handling and distribution of millions of pounds of food peryear, and a Backpack Buddies initiative which helps low-income children get nutritional snacks on weekends and after school. Disabilities Board of Charleston County - we have been a proud partner of the Disabilities Board for over six years and believe strongly in the importance of its mission. The Disabilities Board works with mentally and physically challenged individuals to assist them in finding and preparing for exciting employment opportunities that might otherwise not be available to them. We are privileged to have several of their consumers on our team. To learn more, watch this inspiring video about one of UECo's very own. PetHelpers - for the past eight years, we have supported one of the foremost pet rescue organizations in the state as it brings innovative shelter solutions to the serious problems of pet overpopulation. PetHelpers is a no-kill facility, and The Urban Electric Co. is proud to make a significant donation every year to the Fur Ball, their annual fundraising event.
