Graber Elementary School
Graber Elementary School is located at 17th Avenue and Cleveland Street in the northeastern part of Hutchinson Kansas. In the immediate area are Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community College, the Kansas State Fairgrounds, and the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. Graber Elementary School was named for a prominent Hutchinson businessman, Willard J. Graber. Mr. Graber served as a Board of Education member of the Hutchinson Public Schools for 12 years. Graber Elementary was first opened for occupancy in August 1954 with an enrollment of 350 students. Presently, the building serves kindergarten through sixth grade with an enrollment of 340. There are sixteen classrooms, a library media center, a support services room, as well as a computer lab. A large playground including grass covered playing fields and a black top area bordered by the building on the north and east sides. An outdoor classroom is located on the southeast side of the building.
