Valley Grinding & Manufacturing

Valley Grinding was founded in 1987 in the heart of Wisconsin's paper-rich Fox River Valley. The founding focus was to service cutting tool sharpening to nearby paper mills and paper converters. As a company, it has earned a reputation as a premium supplier of industrial blades, knives and grinding services to the converting and manufacturing industries for the past two decades. Valley Grinding manufactures a wide variety of circular knives, bottom bands, flat knives, solid carbide and solid ceramic razor blades, specialty knives and a patented (#5085535) TRU-FIT™ split band. All blades, bands and knives are manufactured from the highest grade of tool steel required for the customer's machine and cut quality needs. In addition to its manufacturing and grinding capabilities, Valley Grinding or 'VG,' offers in-house consulting services, slitting training seminars and design services. The company offers these services to enable customers to exact the efficiency and productivity of Valley Grinding's products specifically. In general, this expertise and advice helps customers produce a better product at a lower cost. The company also offers individual inventories alongside pick-up and delivery services within designated areas. Valley Grinding and Manufacturing led the development of new technologies and customer-focused quality control measures to offer its customers the finest in cutting options. This was achieved through implementing the use of powdered metals and cryogenics. VG takes pride in offering its customers worldwide the ultimate slitting and cutting products and solutions. New blades, as well as all reground blades, are shipped with protective edge coatings. Custom-made protective shipping containers are available. All products manufactured by VG meet or exceed OEM specifications. A fully equipped in-house quality control lab, including MicroView Technology and coordinate measuring machine rounds out the company's operation. In 1993, to better service its customers in the Southeast, Valley Grinding expanded its operations opening a facility in Georgia. The company later grew its operations in 1996 with the construction of a shop in the Columbus, Ohio area to service both the Midwest and Northeast regions. In 2006, The Ohio Service Center doubled its capacity. This additional space allowed for overall growth and new machinery to be introduced, including a new Super-Finisher that delivers the sharpest slitter knives in the industry. All in all the expanded facility permitted the development of additional employees as well as services including sharpening and the repair of paper and poly choppers. More recently, VG divided the territories from the Atlanta shop opening a service center in Shreveport, LA. 2012 and Greer, SC. 2013.The Shreveport plant is situated in the Arklatex's region in efforts to support new opportunities with a large multi-national company. Here the product line revolves around the fiber business, complimenting Valley Grinding's ever steady presence in the paper, film and foil markets within the region. Continuing on, the new service center in the Greenville/Spartanburg SC. area gives light to reducing overall logistics costs. Being centered amongst its largest customer base leaves Valley Grinding with nothing but ample opportunities to advance business in all directions.
