In 1961, Pete Vann purchased the Missoula appliance store where he had started working as stock boy 11 years earlier and opened the first Vann's with three employees, including himself. Since then, Vann's has grown into Montana's largest independent retailer of home appliances and consumer electronics. Employee-owned since 1996, Vann's now has 143 employees and retail locations in Kalispell, Hamilton, Bozeman, Helena and Billings. Vann's continues to be headquartered in Missoula, a location that houses Vann's corporate offices, distribution center, authorized service center, and Vanns.com, a thriving electronics e-commerce business..
