Varova
Varova Oy was established in 1948. The company first offered services to the Finnish Post and Telegraph Office and Yle, the Finnish Broadcasting Company. Their equipment needed to be handled very carefully and that is the reason why the company was named Varova Oy (= careful). Mr Leevi K. Laitinen commenced his employment with the company in 1957. In early 60's the founders of Varova retired and Mr Laitinen bought the company for his family. Finnish private ownership has ensured independent agency agreements for Varova. During the 1980's Varova grew and became Internationally strong and expanded operations from Europe to the Far East. Varova received IATA rights and established an own airfreight office at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport at the beginning of the 90's. In addition to airfreight operations, Varova also started a remarkable service of transit traffic to Russia. Today, Varova Oy is one of the largest privately owned Finnish companies in the International Transport and Forwarding business.
