Vietnam Partners

Vietnam Partners is an investment bank and financial advisory firm dedicated to the emerging market of Vietnam and its major trading partners in the region, notably, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, Thailand and southern China. Vietnam Partners was co-founded by Bradley LaLonde, former executive at Citibank with country management experience in various emerging market countries, including Vietnam from 1994 to 1999, and by James W. Lewis, founder of Geometry Group in New York and a former partner and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of Morgan Stanley, New York. Based in Vietnam, Mr. LaLonde heads the Advisory Board and is the Managing Partner of Vietnam Partners, LLC. He was one of the pioneers who entered Vietnam immediately after the U.S. trade embargo was lifted to set up Citibank's franchise in the country and ultimately two branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). As a founding member and Chairman of AMCHAM Vietnam during the historic bilateral trade negotiations between Vietnam and the United States, and having introduced many innovative banking products into the financial markets of Vietnam, Mr. LaLonde established excellent relations with key government and business leaders during an important formative period in Vietnam's trade and investment relations with the United States. Jim Lewis shared the management of Vietnam Partners as a co-founder and contributed to a number of Vietnam Partners' successes during the first six years of Vietnam Partners, LLC. Mr. Lewis retired from active management of VP in 2011, but remains an advisor and leading investor as well as Chairman of BVIM (BIDV-Vietnam Partners Investment Management). Vietnam Partners, through its members and Vietnamese professionals, provides the following services: Investment Banking, Strategic Advisory Services, Principal Investments, Investment Management and Trade and Investment Solutions. It advises both domestic Vietnamese and internationally based clients, including provincial governments, public-sector enterprises, commercial banks, investment banks, securities brokerage firms as well as consumer products, manufacturing and mining, information technology and real estate companies. Vietnam Partners was one of the first entrants into the private equity business and has completed the investment cycle on its second fund (Vietnam Investment Fund II) that has delivered an 18% return to investors over the three-year life of the fund. It continues to offer fund management services through its joint venture with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam. Vietnam Partners is a Delaware LLC with sole managing member Bradley LaLonde and supported by an international advisory board and executive management board of advisors in Vietnam. Complementing its investment banking and advisory business, Vietnam Partners has investments in a fund management company (BVIM), various commercial trading businesses (Indochina Auto/ Ducati Vietnam) as well as a number of real estate developments. Vietnam Partners advises clients on entry strategies, financing operations from domestic and international sources, divestitures, buy-side and sell-side mandates and problem-solving, including restructuring and growing businesses.
