Vigyanlabs is an innovation driven organization focused on building products to promote green computing. Founded by Srinivas and Srivatsa, we have attracted some of India's best talent to create new Intellectual Property and build technology products to deliver the benefits of our IP and knowledge base to the society at large rapidly. At the time of formation, we looked the key problems facing our world (such as scarcity of water and energy, waste and transportation management) and identified the space we can help address given our skillsets. We chose "power management of IT infrastructure" as our core business. The choice was on account of our expertise in the area of IT optimization and high performance systems engineering. Our first product has been IPM+ to enable Intelligent Power Management™ in mobiles, PCs and data centers. We commercialized the product in 2014 along with filing our first United States Patent for fine-grained, non-intrusive, distributed IT infrastructure management system. Since its launch, IPM+ has established itself as one of the leading products in the Green Computing space winning the prestigious Technology Innovation of the Year, 2013 from NASSCOM in India. The product has propelled Vigyanlabs into the Gartner Cool Vendors list for 2014 for Green Computing. Vigyanlabs has since then been recognized in the TiE 50 Global Startups list and win the Red Herring Asia Top 100 Award. As a company, we operate as a 'Carbon Neutral' business. We have used the IPM+ technology in our own offices to track and reduce the carbon footprint on an ongoing basis and offset the residual operating carbon footprint through planting of trees on a periodic basis. In addition, we are an active supporter of the Sikshana Foundation in India to improve learning levels in the public education system in rural and semi-urban areas. We believe firmly in providing equal opportunity for employment and extending growth opportunities to all sections of the society. Our choice of a non-metro location - Mysore - to set up our R&D centre and employing youngsters from tier-3 and tier-4 towns in Karnataka at our R&D centre is one of the many ways in which we put this belief to practice.
