Virtuoso Music

Virtuoso Music provides experienced, motivated teachers that travel to your home to give private lessons. Unlike with "drop off" lessons, parents will have a dedicated opportunity each week to speak with the instructor on their child's progress. Additionally, we provide performance opportunities, community events and related services to give a sense of community involvement and generally a more well-rounded result for our students. How much do lessons cost? We make a great effort to ensure our prices are on target for the market, and that we pay our instructors as well as we can to attract the highest quality talent possible. As a result of these efforts, we feel we have the best value to be found and you can view our current prices and policies page for full details. Will I be able to meet my instructor before enrolling in lessons? Yes. After gathering from you information about your goals, schedule preferences, and other interests we will arrange a free introductory lesson with a potential instructor. After this initial meeting, should you decide to continue, we will give you instructions to complete our easy online enrollment process. What if I don't like the instructor you provide? While we are proud of our ability to match students with appropriate and qualified instructors, we understand that occassionally and for many reasons the instructor and student are incompatible. In this case we will work with you to provide another one of our instructors, and again we will never charge you for introductory sessions. What instruments do you teach? Virtuoso Music has teachers for all major instuments, including but not limited to Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Violin, Viola, Drums, and Wind Instruments. We also provide Voice lessons. Do you offer opportunities for students to perform? Yes. Virtuoso Music hosts two optional and freerecitals each year, one in late spring and another in late fall. The recitals are designed to be fun and informal, while still providing students valuable performance opportunities. We also offer at least one festival each year - a chance for all students interested to get more formal written feedback on their performances, and possibly earn nationally-recognized awards. What length of lesson should I choose? Younger students or those with shorter attention spans should consider 45 minute weekly lessons. 60 minute and longer lessons are available for more experienced/older students, and our teachers can help you decide what length of lessons would be better when they meet with you at the introductory lesson. Why is there a 45-min minimum session length? In our experience, in-home private lessons less than 45 minutes are less effective due to necessary acclimation and warm-up period, and follow-up parent consultations. It is also very difficult for most of our instructors to financially justify traveling to customers' homes for only a 30-minute session. In order to create a fun learning experience that is not rushed, and to attract the highest quality instructors possible, we have decided to make 45-minutes our minimum session length for any single visit. May I have lessons every other week, or on an irregular schedule? We understand that many of our customers have very busy lives, and we will work with you to accommodate occasional schedule changes. However, our instructors are also very busy and in high-demand and rely on a consistent schedule to manage their time. As a result we cannot support lesson schedules less than once per week. May I have more than once per week? Yes, as long as we can secure a consistent schedule with your instructor. Please contact us and we will help match you with an instructor that can meet your needs. Are discounts given for multiple students? Yes. Virtuoso Music allows you to split sessions 60 minutes or longer with multiple students, as long as the lesson occurs at one location. Our prices are designed to provide you with lower hourly rates the longer the total session is with us. Do you provide instruments for the lessons? At this time, Virtuoso Music does not rent or sell instruments, but we are happy to help point you in the right direction or provide some advice. Do you provide in-studio lessons? Virtuoso Music has chosen to focus exclusively on in-home lessons and related services, as we are true believers in this approach. In-home instruction is a convenient, effective way to learn an instrument - especially in younger children who are typically more comfortable in familiar surroundings. Our teachers come to you and save you the hassle of driving to a music store or studio, waiting around for 45 minutes, and then driving back home. Do your teachers give lessons on the weekend? Most of our teachers do provide lessons on the weekend, although a few do not. We will work with you and your schedule to match you with the best instructor for your needs. What are the instructors' qualifications? All Virtuoso Music instructors are experienced teachers and performers, the majority of which have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in music. While our instructors bring their own methodologies and styles, all have successfully passed our rigorous screening process including extensive background checks, musical audition, and numerous interviews. All Virtuoso Music instructors care deeply for music, and have the experience and motivation to effectively communicate their passion to their students. Click here to read more. Are background checks done on the teachers? Yes, your safety is extremely important to us. All Virtuoso Music instructors undergo background checks conducted by Infolink Screening Services, Inc. - a member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and an industry leader in FRCA-compliant screening. What style(s) of music do you teach? We have teachers spanning all musical styles, from classical to jazz and pop and everything in between. Will you share my personal information with any other organizations? Your privacy is important to us, and to address your concerns we have developed an explicit privacy policy. In a nutshell, Virtuoso Music does not share any of our customers' personal information with other organizations. How do I get started? Schedule your free introductory lesson today!
