At Eye Surgical Associates, we pride ourselves in employing only the best assistants and technicians. We require them to obtain certification (if they do not already have it) and to maintain it by completing the required continuing education hours. COAs are required to earn 18 continuing education hours every three years, and technicians are required to obtain 27 every three years. Candidates for assistant and technician certification are required to take a written exam given through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. Acquiring and maintaining this certification helps ensure that our employees are trained at the highest level in order to provide our patients with excellent care.
