VOX S.p.A. was the first company to introduce, in 2001, an innovative rental service of tour guide systems for guided group visits. A simple idea that has revolutionized the way organized group tours are managed: the guide talks using a wireless microphone and visitors listen to all the words of the explanation through an earpiece, even at a distance, while moving, in noisy environments and in a relaxed atmosphere. Today tour guide systems are so widely used in major tourist areas that it's hard to remember how tiring guided tours used to be in the past, when guides had to shout to be heard, visitors had to push their way through to listen and museums were noisier than markets. This is because VOX systems did not yet exist. 2001: year of foundation. We were the first company to introduce the service and define guidelines, modes, logistics and reference fees. Today we are a reference point of the field and continue to evolve our services by expanding our offer, season after season. Radioguide®: our registered mark in Italy. It can be translated in English as 'tour guide radio system'. In the past we used to call them headphones, headsets, radios, audio-receivers…In 2003 we decided to give them a proper name: Radioguide® .Today, the term Radioguida® has become part of common language and is used to refer to equipment used for guided group tours, just like Nutella is immediately identified as the spreadable cream made of nuts. The term is so wide-spread that it has already been translated in other languages: from radioguias to radioprzewodnik.
