NEXCO-West USA

NEXCO-West USA is a subsidiary of NEXCO-West Co. Ltd., formerly a division of Japan Highway Public Corporation. Now privatized, NEXCO-West owns and operates over a third of Japan's highway system. To help maintain its extensive road system it both solely and jointly developed various technologies. Masato Matsumoto (current CEO) brought those technologies to the US after recognizing an increasing demand in new technological solutions abroad. He conducted a successful pilot project in the Florida Keys, examining the decktop and underside of the famous Seven Mile Bridge. NEXCO-West USA was founded in Washington D.C. shortly afterwards in 2011. Since the completion of pivotal projects in 2013 and 2014, such as the publication of validation testing in Haymarket, VA using SHRP2 study findings, NEXCO-West USA has grown to take on projects of larger scale and established itself as a forerunner in the mobile NDT market. In 2015, we completed the scanning of nine bridges along PA-283 outside of Lancaster, PA. That same year, we expanded our services to encompass building, dam, and parking structure surfaces using IRT and crack analysis technologies in NYC. In 2017, we completed the evaluation of twenty bridge decks across the state of Virginia while simultaneously providing in-person or remote IRT field and post-processing consultation services.
