At Waldeck our team offers a full site investigation service to understand ground and sub-structure issues. We possess extensive expertise of foundation design for structures on difficult ground, with special design requirements because they are for sensitive machinery or turbines or perhaps those adjacent to other buildings and structures so as not to influence or damage the neighbour's property. As well as straightforward conventional strip or pad foundation design, we also offer a more specialist foundation design service including foundation immediate and long-term settlement analysis, reinforced concrete ground beam, bored and driven piled or mini piled foundations, raft, semi-raft, pontoon raft, deep and water-retaining basement constructions, improving ground and adopting more modest mass or lightly reinforced foundations to name the most common. Design solutions using deep pad or piled foundations with reinforced concrete ground beams or slabs are regularly used where particular adverse ground conditions and or close proximity of trees require it. Foundations upon shrinkable clays soils, on land with previous industrial use, in mining areas and on chalk soils can present difficulties and the Waldeck team has the expertise in the design of alternative foundation solutions where required to overcome such difficult ground conditions.
