Walnutdale Family Farms

Walnutdale Family Farms is a 3rd-generation family-owned and operated dairy farm, with the 4th generation learning the ways of the family business. Home to 1,700 Holstein cows, Walnutdale Farms milks three times a day on a 50-stall GEA Rotary Parlor at its original dairy in Wayland, MI which was completed in December of 2010 after a devastating fire in July of that year which completely destroyed the parlor, holding area and a free-stall barn. Our Jersey farm, called Breview Jerseys is located six miles away in Caledonia, MI and is home to 650 Jersey cows whose milk is purchased for use in cheese manufacturing. The high fat and protein content in Jersey milk make it ideal for use in making cheese. The Jerseys are milked twice a day in a double 5 herringbone parlor. We raise our own heifer calves to be used as replacements in our herd. We farm 2,500 acres of corn for silage and hay for haylage which we use to feed our livestock throughout the year and do all our own our harvesting. Our farm employs about 25 hard-working employees who help get our daily tasks done. If you have more questions or are in the area and would like a tour we would love to hear from you!
