WearHealth

We are a research spin-off of Bremen University. WearHealth is a Spinn-off of the University of Bremen. The project CHRONIOUS is the source of the inspiration. Chronious is a project which run from 2008 until 2012 and had the goal to define a European framework for a generic health status monitoring platform schema addressing people with chronic health conditions. To accomplish this goal a smart wearable platform for was realized. The platform addressed people suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Renal Insufficiency and was based on multi-parametric sensors data processing. Through sensor data from wearables CHRONIOUS Intelligence detected any sign of abnormal health status and generated alerts. The collected data was notified to the healthcare providers by a dedicated and secure web platform. WearHealth has a good relationship with Thad Starner, the technical lead on the wearable computing project Google Glass, where the goal was to create a ubiquitous computer. Google Glass is an optical head-mounted display in form of eyeglasses and is used for several investigations in the healthcare sector.
