Additionally, we have the A-levels programme to prepare students for successful admission to universities worldwide. We are proud of the fact that many of our students come to us by word-of-mouth introductions. We believe this is a direct result of the "school as a community" feeling among the students, parents, teachers and staff. In our boarding houses, we limit the number of boarding students per boarding house parent to preserve the closeness and emotional support which are so important for students in their teenage years. The WIS school philosophy of educational excellence, character building and community partnership, lies at the heart of our mission to help our students achieve their full potential. We aim to develop independent learners who are also self-leaders. We encourage behaviour that demonstrates integrity, wisdom, responsibility and respect. We believe that teachers hold the key to students' motivation to learn therefore we actively seek teachers who share our vision and have the drive to motivate students to excel and become powerful learners. As such, it is essential for students of today to possess the skills and knowledge to make wise decisions in this ever- changing and challenging digital environment. With ready-Internet access in the classrooms our students are taught the skills to manage the demands of a high tech globalised world by managing their personal time wisely and making the right choices. We understand that to reach this goal of developing leaders and life-long learners, we need a strong and effective partnership with parents. We recognize that education is an ongoing and shared responsibility between home and school.
