Westminster Abbey
Profits from the Westminster Abbey Shop are gift-aided to Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey relies principally on tourist income as it receives no funding from the Crown, the government or the Church of England. It costs over £10 million each year to run the Abbey, and income from visitors (through tickets, retail and catering) helps to maintain our UNESCO World Heritage site. In addition to maintenance and every day running costs, the Abbey also uses income for conservation projects, including major restoration work, the development of education and music programmes, and work to improve and enhance the experience of visitors and pilgrims to the Abbey.
