West Sound

West Sound and West FM news operates seven days a week, with weekday bulletins beginning at 6.00am until 7.00pm. These are broadcast every hour with headlines on the half hour in the morning and evening. At weekends we operate from 7.00am until lunchtime on both Saturday and Sunday. Local news is the bedrock of our broadcasting - listeners want to know what's happening in the likes of Girvan, Ayr, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Saltcoats and other towns in the region - and that's what we give them! We also cover the main Scottish news, we have our own reporters in the Scottish Parliament and the rest of the UK with international news coming from IRN - Independent Radio News based in London. We also produce three sports bulletins a day, broadcast in the morning, lunchtime and evening which again concentrates on the likes of Killie, Ayr United, Queen of the South and the junior game plus the main sports stories of the day. We're the only service that concentrates on the local area - that's why our news bulletins are so popular.
