Whitesell-Green, Inc. (WGI) was founded in 1970 by W.K. (Bill) Whitesell, Jr. and Ralph S. Green (1935-'94) in Pensacola, Florida. Bill earned his Civil Engineering degree from North Carolina State University in 1963 and worked for the Veterans Administration as a Resident Engineer before moving to Pensacola in 1967, to work for a local general contractor. Ralph graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Building Construction and worked for general contractors in Pensacola before he and Bill decided to start Whitesell-Green. Today, Whitesell-Green has over forty years of public/private construction and design-build contracting experience throughout the southeastern United States. Following Ralph Green's death in 1994, Bill Whitesell remained to oversee the entire operation of this closely-held family business which includes children: Jill Whitesell, Elizabeth (Beth) Whitesell Locklear, and W.K. (Billy) Whitesell, III. Randy Gibson, a thirty year tenured employee, was recently named as the company president of Whitesell-Green, Inc. Randy oversees all aspects of company operations. WGI is recognized as one of the premier general contracting firms in the Southeast region. We have constructed over 400 heavy/commercial projects, resulting in nearly one billion dollars of completed contracts. We have a current bonding capacity of $250 million. Whitesell-Green is licensed to perform construction in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. Our strong Southeast presence positions us to respond immediately and professionally to the needs of any project in this region. WGI has a strong working relationship with area building and specialty subcontractors who stand ready to participate in the estimating and construction process. By joining the project team early, we can offer cost saving value-engineering proposals to our clients, and we have the capability to perform timely and accurate cost estimating for budgeting purposes. WGI has received numerous awards for quality of construction, service, and safety, including multiple Awards of Merit from the Department of the Navy and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We attribute our success to the professionals in our employ, particularly our field superintendents, most of who have over 30 years with the company.
