Wicihitowin

Wicihitowin, a Cree word for helping each other, is a community-driven organization made up of dedicated volunteers who are committed to the vision of Aboriginal communities and partners working together to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal peoples in Edmonton and area. Our mission is to make the best use of resources, information, and commitments to find solutions to our challenges and to create opportunities through our Circle of Shared Responsibility. We are please to invite you to participate and become involved in our work within Edmonton as we move forward. Inspired with the spirit of reconciliation and heartfelt commitment to working together - regardless of status or background or tribal affiliations - it's is our firm believe that we are in this together. The challenge is for us as Canada's Indigenous peoples - whether we are First Nations, Metis, Inuit, Status, non-status - to come together and find ways to support each other, help heal and move forward into vibrant and positive future for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and our generations to come. Wicihitowin will be holding a series of community circle engagement in the five priority identified areas, which are housing, employment and training, health and well-being, education, and family. As a member, you will be invited to collaborate and share in the progression of the organization.
