Winter was founded as an electrical contracting firm in 1947, doing construction projects as well as industrial trouble shooting and maintenance. During the contracting years, many standby power systems were installed and placed into service. This identified a future market and Winter Engine-Generator Service, Inc. was established in 1964 as a generator distributor for central Pennsylvania. In 1973 our service area was increased to include northeastern Pennsylvania and the Poconos. The company sold and serviced on-site standby emergency power supply systems to public buildings, utilities, hospitals, health care facilities, schools, churches, water and sewer, commercial, and industrial applications. Attention was also given to residential, recreational vehicle, and marine generator sets. In 1989 Kohler Power Systems appointed Winter Engine the factory authorized distributor for Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. Winter has the facility, personnel, experience, and capabilities to provide a wide range of products and services.
